I know, we all dread them — the annual requests for fundraisers.

Just this past week, I’ve received notices about the middle school fundraiser, the choir fundraiser, the Senior class fundraiser and a fall fundraiser.

I’m all for helping the schools to raise money but my time is limited and I don’t like to continually ask family and friends to support these causes (heck, they all have kids too).

BUT, there is one fundraiser that I can get behind 100% —

because it doesn’t cost me any additional money or time

AND the kids can do it all on their own!

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sprint. I received a sample device to facilitate this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

You know when the stars seem to align and a few things just fall into place at the right time.  Well, that’s just what happened when we received our newest Sprint item to review this month.

This is one of those posts that, as a parent, I hope you never have to use.  I hope you can file it away on a Pinterest board or in a favorites menu and never have to use it.  In all honesty, I wish I didn’t have to write it.

My son has another broken bone this summer.  It’s his 5th fracture in 2 years. (Oh, and my daughter was also in a cast last summer).

Yes, we’ve had him tested – for calcium deficiency, for Vitamin D deficiency, for brittle bone disease — you name it and they ran a test, checked the scans and referred to multiple physicians.  But the only answer we have is that “he’s growing quickly and the bones haven’t filled in yet”.  Not much comfort to any of us right now.

My main reason for writing this post is to let other parents know what we’ve learn about living with casts.

The other day, my daughter asked me if I was writing anything new for the blog.  She always gets excited if I tell her it’s a book review or there’s a new project we get to do together.  But this conversation went a little differently since my newest project is about how to clean and vacuuming for kids …

Me: “Actually, I’m writing a mini-series about how kids can help clean around the house.”

Kid (with deer in the headlights look):  “Mom! Kids don’t like to clean!”

Me:  “Guess what Honey, parents don’t like to clean either.”

Kid: “Really?!”  (yep, kids will never stop surprising me with their questions)

I do love the month of January.

Not because of the snow or any special occasions — it’s because the month brings us a chance to slow down and reflect on all the great times from the previous year.

Live is busy; we all know it can fly by too quickly.  January offers us a time to think about all the wonderful memories and activities that we experienced.

Life is busy!  Especially at this time of the year — so I will frequently jump on any chance to make things a little easier.

For example, using holiday bags to wrap odd-shaped gifts instead of wrapping paper – much easier!

And bar cookies that you can bake all in one pan – homemade and easy!

Just as portable as my morning coffee but waaay stronger!

So when I found out there was a way I could have wifi for my iPad and computer no matter where I was — Big Score for making life easier!!
