I’m sure you’re familiar with the old saying idiom — “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” In the month of March, life seems to revolve around the crazy weather. And every once in a while, if you’re lucky, you are treated to something beautiful … a rainbow! …

As am sure you know, we are big readers at our house. And as readers, do you know what’s worse than dropping an ice cream cone around here? Waiting for the next book from a much loved author or illustrator to come out! Seriously, when you find an amazing author or an illustrator that your …
One of the best things about summer is that slowed down schedule — it’s a time when I don’t mind that our projects take more than a day to complete.
Kids can take their time with the creative process and enjoy each step. Summer is a time to think about creating art that has multiple steps in the project. You know, those “we need to wait for it to dry before the next step” type of activities.

We always seem to have great animal encounters on our outings & vacations. And not just ONE animal. Nope — we seem to see large groups of animals. A few years ago, we saw moose and big horn sheep on a trip to the Rockies. Then we got an close-up look at bison & elk …
Have you ever visited the zoo with the kids — they look at the animals, play around, you talk to them about various things — and then you’re home for a hour or so and the questions begin… Why do the monkeys comb each other? How many stripes does a zebra have? Did you notice …
Our theme for this week is Owls!
Owls are amazing creatures and kids will enjoy learning about these beautiful birds. There are many different kinds of owls — snowy owl, burrowing, owl, great horned owl — it’s interesting to learn about what they have in common and how they differ.
