We were involved in a wonderful book exchange program this summer that was coordinated by my friend Kim from The Educator’s Spin on It. 

The Summer Book Exchange included 30 bloggers who each chose a great book for summer reading, created some fun activities & crafts to go along with the story and packed it all up in a box to exchange with a ‘surprise’ partner.

 

 

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games are less than a month away!  So many families spend time together watching the events and learning about the Olympics and the host country.  This year, the Olympics will be hosted in London – I wonder what type of opening ceremony & events we will see?

Welcome to our first post in the Poppins Book Club! 

This online book club is for kids from preschool to highschool – kids who love to do more than just read a book!

Each month, a new theme will be introduced and we encourage you to choose your own book (or two) to read.  Parents and teachers will find lots of fun activities each month based on the theme – this month’s theme is Knights, Princesses & Castles.  If you’re a blogger, connect your books to an activity or craft and share it during our link-up each month.

Each month, our group of 40+ book-loving bloggers chooses an author and highlights some fun projects, crafts and activities that match up with their books.  The book club is a great way to find fun extension activities that will get the kids more excited about reading and books!
