We've already had our first taste of winter and the temperatures were brutally cold!  So I am ready to find a few new ideas before the next snowy day blows in from the west.

Now, I'll admit that no matter how snowy or cold the day, I do like the get the kids outside for a while.  But we also love to have some fun seasonal indoor activities to do too.  So for this week's Discover & Explore Winter round-up, I thought I would pull together a variety of winter activities that can be done both inside and out.

Babies and toddlers will love this collection of winter-themed fine motor play from The Good Long Road.

Spend an afternoon creating your own Enchanted Winter Forest Small World like this gorgeous one from My Nearest and Dearest.

Explore Outside

Enjoy some of these creative ways to play in the snow from P is for Preschooler.

Create your own Snow Maze like this one from Life with Moore Babies.

You'll love these 14 Classic Winter Activities (build a fort, make maple sugar candy & more!) from What do We do All Day?

Learn your letters with a snowball hunt from How Wee Learn.

And one AWESOME food activity -- turn snacktime into creative time with a fun Snowman Fruit Treat from Kiddie Foodies.

I hope there are a few ideas that inspire you to take advantage of the next winter day that comes your way.

And be sure to visit us later this afternoon when we kick off the first linky of the New Year -- share your best post of 2013 with us!
