Baby goats at Deanna Rose Baby goats at Deanna Rose Pic by Jacquie

Give your teen the opportunity to act like a kid again – feed baby goats, hike some trails, learn about how milk goes from cow to store shelves and see what a prairie town might have looked in the mid-1800’s.

Before Your Visit:

  • Don't forget a water bottle and some snacks for your visit.
  • If you want to avoid the crowds of younger kids, visit in the late afternoon or evening.
  • Need some volunteer hours?  The Farmstead has opportunities for teens to volunteer during special events and during daily operations.

Explore Deanna Rose:

  • NEW THIS YEAR:  The Educational Pavilion (located near the General Store) will host FREE public programs at 11am, 1pm & 3 pm daily.  Programs will highlight turn-of-the-century farmlife and be interactive for kids.
  • Bottle-feed the baby goats ($).
  • Go mining for gem stones ($).
  • Tour the Dairy Barn to see calves, watch a movie about milk and quiz yourself at the video stations.
  • Visit your favorite farm animal (piglets, bunnies, goats, horses, chickens, turkeys, etc.).
  • Hike the nature trails.
  • Explore the Kanza Indian Encampment and Schoolhouse.
  • Visit the prairie dog exhibit – these guys are cute and crazy diggers!
  • If the waterfall is running, cool off your feet a while.
  • Take a wagon ride ($).
